How Straightforward Bookkeeping Works

At Straightforward Bookkeeping, I use QuickBooks Online to keep your books accurate and up to date each month, so you always know where your business stands.

  • Each month, I:

    • Categorize transactions from your QuickBooks bank feeds

    • Reconcile your bank accounts, credit cards, and loans

    • Prepare your financial reports

    Your reports will be delivered by the 15th of the following month, provided I receive the documents I need on time.

    Each client is assigned a specific day of the week when I review their transactions. If I have questions, I’ll send you a quick email so you can clarify any transactions while they’re still fresh in your mind. You can respond whenever it’s convenient for you.

  • To complete your bookkeeping, I will need items such as bank statements, payroll reports, and loan statements. You can upload these securely through Dropbox, or grant me view-only access so I can retrieve them directly.

  • Want help understanding your financial reports? I offer an optional monthly walkthrough video where I explain your financial statements and highlight key insights. This is an additional add on service for monthly bookkeeping.

  • If your books are behind or contain errors, they’ll need to be cleaned up and brought current before ongoing monthly bookkeeping begins. This is a separate service that is an additional cost.

  • All services are billed at a flat monthly fee based on the size and complexity of your business and QuickBooks file. Invoices are due on the 1st of each month before services are performed.

  • Getting started is simple:

    1. Book a discovery call.

    2. I’ll learn about your business and review your QuickBooks Online file.

    3. You’ll receive a custom quote.

    4. You approve the quote, sign a service agreement, and pay your first invoice.

    5. You’ll set up any required view only access for document retrieval.

    6. I get started on your books.

    During the first few months, I may ask more questions as I learn how your business operates. Once I understand your processes, your bookkeeping runs smoothly.
